IPL 2021 Watch: Rishabh Pant Found Short After An Accurate Throw From Karun Nair

Delhi Capitals skipper Rishabh Pant scored 39 from 36 balls Delhi Capitals scored 127/9 after being asked to bat first by KKR skipper Eoin Morgan. Pant along with Steve Smith scored 39 each as the rest of the Delhi batters found it tough to score in testing conditions under the sun. Delhi also failed to hit a single six throughout the whole innings.

KKR spinners kept a stranglehold against the Delhi batsmen which was followed up by some good work from Lockie Ferguson, Venkatesh Iyer and Tim Southee.

Rishabh Pant Run Out After Scoring 39

Rishabh Pant while trying to steal a second in the final over of Delhi’s innings was found short by a good throw from Karun Nair and fast hands from Dinesh Karthik.

Meanwhile, it was another good effort from the KKR bowlers to keep the opposition in check. Some misfields in the fag end of the innings coast thema few runs but overall it was a good score.

KKR needs to score 128 to win the game and if they manage to get over the line, they stay at fourth place with 10 points. The game between Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings then becomes crucial as a win for either of those teams takes them to 10 points as well.

“As the ball got a little bit older, it just held up and took a bit of spin as well. We were probably looking for somewhere between 140 and 150, we are below that but hopefully we can take a few early wickets, put some pressure on, squeeze through the middle and scrape throughout the whole 20” said Steve Smith in the mid-innings break.

“Our boys have been bowling exceptionally well, so hopefully, we can start really well. It’s just one of those wickets where you have to scrape and it’s not an easy one to hit boundaries. We didn’t hit a single six and that’s pretty rare here in Sharjah. There was no real swing there, cross-seam and just rolling your fingers over the ball, slower balls and just good hard length, keep things pretty simple and just keep scrapping throughout the whole 20 overs” he further added.
