IPL 2021 Watch: Suresh Raina Breaks His Bat While Getting Dismissed

The IPL 2021 resumption has been crazy so far for Chennai Super Kings. Winning the toss and opting to bat first, they have lost three wickets inside the powerplay. Meanwhile, Suresh Raina after getting the worst of starts was dismissed for four trying to play a rash shot. Not only was he dismssed, but he also broke his bat to make matters worse.

CSK are ideally four wickets down with Ambati Rayudu getting injured and getting retired hurt. Mumbai Indians, on the other hand, have been on the money. Trent Boult have taken two wickets and Adam Milne have taken one. Mumbai are being led by Kieron Pollard in Rohit Sharma’s absence.

Playing a few jaffers from Boult, Raina looked desperate to score runs. He got off the mark with a streaky shot over the slip cordon. Trying to take on Boult, he tried to hit his way out only managing to take the outside edge of the bat and broke his bat in the process.

Suresh Raina Dismissed For 4

CSK skipper MS Dhoni won the toss and opted to bat first. Sam Curran is not a part of CSK’s playing XI for the opening game. Josh Hazlewood replaces him in the XI. Moeen Ali is also a part of the playing XI.

“We will bat first, looks like a good wicket. Setting a target will be a better option. It’s the same for everyone. I can’t say if it’s a good break or not. Once tournament starts, you get into some sort of rhythm but this season it’s new and maybe us cricketers will start loving it. Seven games, then a break, and seven more. It comes down to how you play on that day in the shortest form. We’ll try to do the basics right and focus on the process. Sam is not available. Faf, Moeen, Bravo and Josh are playing this game” said Dhoni at the toss.

In the last seven meetings between the two sides, Mumbai have won seven while CSK just one.
