St Pat's were able to hold Slovenian side NS Mura to a goalless draw in the second leg of their European qualifying clash, before claiming a memorable win on penalties.

Joe Redmond scored the winning spot kick as the Irish side booked a third-round qualifying date with Bulgarian outfit CSKA Sofia. Winning away in Slovenia against Mura is no easy task - a notion exemplified by Tottenham, who endured an embarrassing 2-1 defeat against the same opposition last season. On that occasion, Harry Kane stamped his name on the scoresheet but couldn't prevent the European minnows from sealing the three points with a dramatic last-minute winner. Mura failed to replicate that magic against St Pat's as they contested 50 minutes of the match with just 10 men following a red card. For the Irish side, this will be their first appearance in a third qualifying round of a European tournament since 2012/13. On that occasion, St Patrick's Athletic dumped out Iceland's IBV and Bosnia's Siroki Brijeg before losing to Hannover in the Europa League qualifiers. St Pat's aren't the only Irish contingent to make it through, and will be joined by Sligo Rovers who eliminated Scotland's Motherwell. Goals from Shane Blaney and Max Mata helped the team to a 2-0 win on the night and a 3-0 aggregate victory. Rovers will take on Norway's Viking in the third qualifying round of the Europa Conference League.
