Irish boss reveals Connolly setback as he names Nations League squad
Albion striker Aaron Connolly is struggling with a heel issue, his international manager has revealed.
Connolly is not part of the Republic of Ireland squad announced today ahead of Nations League fixtures.
Irish boss Stephen Kenny said: "Aaron doesn’t feel right himself.
“He’s had heel injections, causing discomfort, and wasn’t available."
Connolly spent the second half of the season on loan at Middlesbrough.
The Republic open their League B campaign against Armenia in Yerevan on June 4 before welcoming Ukraine to the Aviva Stadium four days later and then Scotland on June 11.
CARL RUSHWORTH NAMED AGAIN IN ENGLAND UNDER-21 SQUAD
