ISIS Threat on Phoenix Won’t Deter World Series of Fighting
Shortly following the horrific Nov. 13 attacks in Paris that killed 136 people and left 352 injured, terrorist group ISIS proclaimed responsibility for the tragedy. The jihadist extremist organization later released a list of potential U.S. targets where similar attacks could occur. On that last was Phoenix, Arizona.
World Series of Fighting 25 takes place at the Comerica Theatre in Phoenix on Friday night, but the fight promotion will not let the potential ISIS threat affect their event, or its planning.

Typical security measures will be in place at the venue, WSOF Vice President Ali Abdelaziz told MMAWeekly.com.
The Egyptian-born Abdelaziz considers the militant group “cowards” and won’t let potential threats of more senseless violence affect the promotion’s decisions.
“These guys from ISIS, they’re cowards. I’m Muslim myself. I’m originally from Egypt. This is not what Islam preaches. These guys are a bunch of cowards, insecure pricks. They need somebody to smash them,” said Abdelaziz, who is also a former professional fighter.
“If you’re going to worry about cowards, your life is going to suck. You have to move on and just live your life,” he added.
WSOF 25 features an eight-man, one night lightweight tournament with the winner becoming the top contender to the 155-pound title. It's the first time the organization has held a one-night tournament but plans are already in the world for the second one.
