Italy have made six changes to their starting XV for their TikTok Women’s Six Nations Round 4 clash with Scotland as Ilaria Arrighetti makes her first appearance of the campaign.

The flanker slots straight back into the side for the game at the Stadio Sergio Lanfranchi in Parma, one of three changes in the pack as Giordana Duca starts in the second row and Vittoria Vecchini comes in at hooker, Melissa Bettoni shifting to loosehead prop.

There are three further changes in the backline, with Sofia Stefan returning at scrum-half, while Aura Muzzo and Michela Sillari, both late withdrawals in Ireland, come in on the wing and at outside centre respectively.

On the bench, Silvia Turani is set to make her first appearance of the campaign after the best part of a year on the sidelines with injury.

Both sides are still searching for a first win of the campaign, and Italy assistant Plinio Sciamanna is keen to see his team regain some confidence in their game plan.

He said: “This week we have to rediscover the understanding and faith in our game. The team came together immediately after the break and took to the work with the right approach. We needed to improve the quality of our possession and the physical solidity in the contact area.

“There are expectations around this game against a Scotland team who play good rugby and are able to put pressure on at every moment of the game. Our challenge will be to make the most of the opportunities that present themselves and the urgency of improving our standards.”
