Brentford star Ivan Toney ‘can’t wait to score goals in the Premier League’ after Bees secure promotion
Brentford striker Ivan Toney capped his stunning season with a Play-off Final goal and then warned top-flight defences: “I’m a Premier League striker now - I can’t wait to score there!” â¨
Toney broke the record for the most Championship goals in a season by scoring 31 times following his move from Peterborough United last summer. â¨
The forward added a crucial 32nd in last weekend’s semi-final win over Bournemouth and made it 33 to send Brentford on their way to a 2-0 Wembley victory over Swansea and into the top-flight for the first time since 1947.â¨
While the likes of Neal Maupay and Ollie Watkins have earned Premier League moves off the back of prolific campaigns in the second tier with Brentford, Toney has now gone a step further, firing the Bees to promotion.â¨
"It's crazy. I've got no words, my voice is going,” he told Sky Sports.â¨
"It's the best dressing room I've been in, I've loved every minute of it.â¨
"I'm in the Premier League with the best bunch of boys I could ever dream of.â¨
"I'm a Premier League striker now and I can't wait to score goals there."
