Brentford striker Ivan Toney capped his stunning season with a Play-off Final goal and then warned top-flight defences: “I’m a Premier League striker now - I can’t wait to score there!”

Toney broke the record for the most Championship goals in a season by scoring 31 times following his move from Peterborough United last summer.

The forward added a crucial 32nd in last weekend’s semi-final win over Bournemouth and made it 33 to send Brentford on their way to a 2-0 Wembley victory over Swansea and into the top-flight for the first time since 1947.

While the likes of Neal Maupay and Ollie Watkins have earned Premier League moves off the back of prolific campaigns in the second tier with Brentford, Toney has now gone a step further, firing the Bees to promotion.

"It's crazy. I've got no words, my voice is going,” he told Sky Sports.

"It's the best dressing room I've been in, I've loved every minute of it.

"I'm in the Premier League with the best bunch of boys I could ever dream of.

"I'm a Premier League striker now and I can't wait to score goals there."
