Douglas Luiz has confided in Aston Villa star over troubled Juventus move
Pau Torres has revealed he's spoken with Douglas Luiz after the midfielder's struggles at Juventus following his summer transfer from Aston Villa.
The midfielder was sacrificed at the end of June as Villa rushed to raise funds to comply with the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR). Signing for Juve for £42m, big things were expected of Luiz at the Italian giants, but he has so far struggled to impress, starting only one Serie A match.
He has missed the club's last seven games in all competitions through injury and hasn't been named in Juve's travelling squad to take on Villa on Wednesday night. Villa centre-back Torres was asked about Juve's threat and Luiz's struggles in the pre-match press conference at Bodymoor Heath.

"For us, Juventus is always a special team, they are an historical team playing in Europe every season and usually winning titles each season," Torres explained. "Now with Douglas Luiz playing there, I know he’s in a difficult moment but he’s a really good player.
"I spoke a lot with him about the club and how he’s feeling there now but for us they’re a winning team with a winning mentality. We know tomorrow will be a difficult game. They are favourites in the beginning but we want to enjoy with our supporters and we will try to beat them."
Torres added: "It’s a difficult moment for him but I know him as a person and a player and I know he will finish the season playing. He has a lot of quality as a person and a player. He’s not available for tomorrow through injury but I hope for him the best for the rest of the season."
Villa have won three of their opening four league phase matches, while opponents Juventus are two points behind them in the table after winning two, drawing one and losing one of their matches so far.
