Leeds youngster Jack Broadbent is aiming to cement a spot in Leeds’ first team after the club announced their renewed partnership with Featherstone.

The 20-year-old made his Rhinos debut in round 12 of the 2020 Super League season against Catalans. He impressed in 2021 with nine tries in 13 appearances, scoring four in the club’s clash with Leigh earlier in July.

Leeds recently confirmed the renewal of their dual- registration partnership with Championship side Featherstone for the 2022 campaign. Rovers, who missed out on promotion to the top flight following the play-off final defeat to Toulouse, will have access to Leeds’ top 20 squad, including Jack Broadbent.

However, the talented outside-back wants to remain in head coach Richard Agar’s plans for 2022.

“I don’t want to be playing at Featherstone, I want to be playing first team [at Leeds] every week,” he told Rhinos TV.

“I’m going to do my best to try and do that where I can. Obviously we have some world quality players in my position in our edges and I’m going to keep pushing as hard as I can to get in this Leeds team first.

“And then, if I’m not, that’s where I’ll go out to Fev and get the game time.

“It’s a great partnership and I think playing in the Championship really benefits players. I did it a couple of years ago, I played a couple games at Fev and played at Batley so I’ve kind of been through it. I’m going to try by best whenever I’m playing.”
