Jacksonville College men down Seahawks, 107-102

Feb. 4—Jacksonville College earned a 107-102 victory over the visiting Seahawks from Lamar State-Port Arthur in a Region XIV tilt that took place Saturday afternoon.

The Jaguars led 45-40 at halftime and were successful at keeping Lamar St. (11-10, 4-8) in check in the final half.

Anthony Riggins and Miles Williams fired in 25 and 23 points, respectively, for the Jags, who improved to 8-14, 2-9.

Riggans went 6-12 from the field and 12-12 from the free throw line.

Williams completed a double-double by snatching down 10 rebounds.

Other players of impact for the Jags were FredTravious Benjamin (20 points, 7 rebounds), Jared Duplechain (12 points, 6 rebounds) and Khadir Mahhammad (10 points, 5 rebounds).

JC shot lights out, connecting on 32 of 58 attempts (55.2%) from the field and sinking 29 of 30 (93.3%) shots from the charity line.

At 7 p.m. Tuesday the JC men will face Blinn in Brenham.
