Jacob Blaney completes Hibs transfer exit as Crusaders land academy graduate defender

Hibs have sanctioned the exit of defender Jacob Blaney to Crusaders on a permanent deal.

The academy graduate, 19, will officially make the switch to the Northern Irish outfit for the start of pre-season next week where he'll begin his new job on June 10. Hibs have confirmed the deal has been done for an undisclosed fee but did reveal it includes a sell-on clause should he move on down the line.

Blaney made just two senior appearances at Easter Road including against St Johnstone back in 2022 when he made his debut. He became a promising starlet in the under-19s UEFA Youth League campaign where he scored against Borussia Dortmund.

The young man also enjoyed loan stints at Stenhousemuir and East Fife but will now play in the NIFL Premiership in the coming weeks.
