Jadon Sancho breaks silence amid injury absence as Chelsea get major update
Jadon Sancho has inadvertently confirmed he is due back in Chelsea training next week amid ambiguity over his fitness.
The 24-year-old will have not played for more than a month by the end of the international break, having last featured in the 2-1 defeat to Liverpool on October 20. After being benched for the subsequent 2-1 win over Newcastle United, Sancho was left out of the squad to face the same team in the League Cup a few days later.
He sat out the 1-1 draw at Manchester United due to being ineligible as per loan rules but also missed the 8-0 Europa Conference League mauling of Noah and 1-1 draw with Arsenal at Stamford Bridge due a small knock he had since picked up in training.

It remains unclear whether Sancho will be available for the clash with Leicester City when club football returns, by which time he will have had two weeks to get up to fitness given his unsurprising omission from the latest England squad.
Sancho has indicated that he is not nursing anything sinister while sending a message to a Chelsea academy graduate on social media. The club shared an interview with Tyrique George, who made his debut against Servette in the Europa Conference League qualifiers back in August.
The 18-year-old has gone on two substitute appearances in the main competition before being handed his first senior start in the thrashing of Noah. He has also registered an appearance from the bench in the League Cup, against Barrow in September.
The interview video shared by Chelsea on X (formerly Twitter) includes a photo of a young George taking a photo with a teenage Sancho prior to his breakthrough into senior football. Sancho himself reacted to this by replying to the club’s post and praising George, who is currently away with England Under-19s.
Sancho wrote: “We definitely recreating this picture! Tyrique has the world at his feet, top guy and such a humble human being. Deserves every bit of success coming his way! See you at training on Monday bro.”
It was Sancho’s first public interaction on the social media platform since October 11, and his first words on X since making his home debut for Chelsea on September 28. The winger has played five Chelsea games so far, being yet to score but grabbing three assists.
