Jacksonville Jaguars team owner Shad Khan spoke with financial outlet The Street this past week, and said he expected cornerback Jalen Ramsey to play on Sunday.

About that ...

Ramsey inactive vs. Saints

When the Jaguars posted their list of inactives for Sunday’s Week 6 game against the New Orleans Saints, Ramsey was on it. He has missed time in recent weeks for a variety of things: the flu or a flu-like illness, the birth of his second child and, more recently, a back injury.

Khan told The Street, “I think [Ramsey] is going to be playing this week, and hopefully you'll tune into the Saints game, but I think that ... you gotta balance what's good for the team and what the individual wishes may be ... I met with him a couple of days ago, had a heart-to-heart and I think we'll be able to come to whatever makes sense for all.”

Ramsey has made it clear that he wishes to be traded, while Khan has said he has no intention of trading the All-Pro corner.

ESPN’s Chris Mortensen tweeted on Sunday that Ramsey participated in only individual drills in practice this past week, and that doctors found nothing debilitating with his back injury. Mortensen colleague Josina Anderson tweeted that Ramsey would “listen to his body.”

Ramsey has now missed three straight games.
