James Harden now considered the second best player in the league by 'NBA 2K'

With a move up to a rating of 96 James Harden trails only LeBron James for best player in "NBA 2K17."

The Houston Rockets could enterthe NBA Playoffs as the No. 3 seedin the Western Conference due in large part to the play of James Harden. Widely considered to be the front runner for league MVP, Harden has expanded his game this season after a move to point guard and shaken off a number of lingering criticisms of his game.

2K Sports has recognized his evolution and represented it in "NBA 2K17" by giving Harden the highest rating of his career. He's been moved up to 96 overall which is near elite all-time territory. That's sevenbig points above a low mark of 89 aseason ago as he now averages career highs points (29.4), assists (11.2), and rebounds (8.1).

Harden began "NBA 2K17" rated 90 and quickly rose, moving up to 94 by mid-December. He hit 95 in late January which tied him with Kevin Durant, Kawhi Leonard, and Russell Westbrook for second highest in the league. He now holds that distinction outright.

LeBron James remains the highest rated current-day player in "NBA 2K17." He has moved up to 97 overall which matches his career high andties him with the peak moments in the careers of Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and Stephen Curry. They of course all trail Michael Jordan and his 99 overall rating.
