James Singleton said his focus is on delivering success and silverware for Glentoran after penning a new long-term deal at The Oval. The 29-year-old has been a key man for the Glens since joining from Glenavon in 2022 captaining the side on numerous occasions over the past three seasons.

Singleton's desire is to bring success to the club and reiterated that after extending his spell in east Belfast to 2027. "I’m delighted to commit my future to Glentoran. This club means a lot to me, and I’m proud to be part of what we’re building here," Singleton said on his contract extension.

“Declan and the coaching staff have brought a new level of professionalism to the club, and the entire squad has bought into it. Even though results have been a mixed bag so far, I’m confident we’re moving in the right direction.

“We’ve got a young, talented squad, and we’re all working hard to deliver consistency and results. My focus is on giving everything for the team and helping Glentoran achieve the success our fans deserve – silverware."

Singleton has embraced his senior role at the BetMcLean Oval, providing invaluable guidance and support to younger players within Declan Devine’s new-look squad and the Glentoran boss is delighted to see him commit his future to the club.

"Singo is an outstanding professional and his never-say-die attitude, leadership qualities, and versatility make him an invaluable part of our squad," said Devine.

“He wears his heart on his sleeve every time he steps onto the pitch, and his dedication to the badge is second to none. That’s the type of character we want at this club and what the fans love to see.

"Beyond his leadership qualities, James is a top-class footballer. His ability to read the game, his combative tackling, and his range of passing is first class. Whether in defence or midfield, his contribution makes an impact on every game."
