James Tavernier isn't the only Rangers underperformer whose place should be at risk
Derek Ferguson reckons James Tavernier should be DROPPED for this weekend's trip to Dundee United.
But the ex-Rangers hero insists the captain isn't the only underperformer whose place should be at risk under Philippe Clement. Almost two weeks have passed since Gers crumbled to yet another Old Firm defeat but fans are still debating Tavernier's future at the club. The long-serving right-back has entered his testimonial year but after a 24th defeat in 38 games against Celtic, there's a growing feeling amongst the support that Tavernier's time in Govan is up.
The 32-year-old was heavily linked with a move to Turkey but has decided to stay at Ibrox until January at least and despite being a senior figure in the dressing room, Ferguson believes the out-of-form skipper should be taken out of the firing line at Tannadice on Sunday. And the Gers diehard also thinks £4.3million signing Mohamed Diomande's position should be under threat.

"Tav's under a bit of pressure", he told Open Goal's Right in the Coupon podcast. "We can talk about the past and he's been brilliant, but at the moment he isn't playing well. It's a massive call but sometimes you've got to make these calls.
"The manager has also stated that he won't play the same number of games that he has done over the course of the last four or five years. Clearly, he's at an age where you have to take him out of it. I think it's probably a good game to give him a wee breather.
"But there are a few others as well. Diomande has come in there and he is a talented ball, but he's got to show a bit more at times as well. You could point a finger at quite a lot of them apart from the wee fella Barron in the middle of the park. He's been the shining light. I think it's a game where Tav might be taken out."
