Jamie Carragher shows true colours with perfect double reaction after Liverpool win
It was double delight for Jamie Carragher this Saturday - as he not only celebrated Darwin Nunez's last-minute winning goals for Liverpool vs Brentford. The former Reds hero was also joyfully watching on as Wigan Athletic defeated Stevenage in the dying seconds of their League One showdown.
With 21 matches played, Liverpool have become the first Premier League team this season to register 50 points. Doing so moved them on to the same number of matches played as second-placed Arsenal - with a seven-point advantage - although the pressure is thrown back on Mikel Arteta's side playing Aston Villa this evening.
Arne Slot's squad were almost resigned to dropping two points in west London. However, Nunez emerged from their substitutes bench to bag two match-winning, injury-time goals in raucous scenes.

And reacting on X, Carragher was ecstatic. He wrote: "What a day," followed by heart emojis - one red, the other blue - then added: "@LFC @LaticsOfficial both score last minute winners!!!"
Of course, with 737 total appearances for the Reds, the only ever club he turned out for across a 16-year career, Carragher is hardly a shy supporter of Liverpool. But why also Wigan?
The answer is his son, James Carragher, who plays for the third-tier side at present. The 22-year-old, who's also a central defender, played the entirety as the Latics beat Stevenage on away soil.
With 10 men after a sending off, they were searching for a winner deep into injury time, much like Liverpool this afternoon. It finally arrived via a free-kick from Theo Aasgaard. Via his Instagram story, the Sky Sports pundit was watching his son's clash with family at home and cheered as the back of the net burst.
