Springbok centre Jan Serfontein has signed a contract extension with Top 14 outfit Montpellier.
The 28-year-old put pen to paper on a new two-year contract until 2024.
Having joined from the Bulls in 2017, the centre has now racked up more than 80 appearances for the French outfit.
Serfontein showed his gratitude for the new deal and told Montpellier’s official website: “I’m happy to continue my career with the club until 2024.
A leader in the team
“I wanted to continue to be part of this team and it feels great playing here with this group [of players].”
Montpellier coach Philippe Saint-André is delighted that Serfontein has recommitted to the club.
“Jan is an important player in our system,” he said. “He is one of the leaders in our team, and has already captained the team this season against Perpignan.
“I am delighted that he is continuing with us.”
