Jason Kenny considering cycling retirement, says wife Laura

Jason Kenny's glittering cycling career may be set to come to an end, his wife Laura has said.

Six-time Olympic gold medallist Jason Kenny is considering retiring from cycling, according to wife Laura.

Kenny won three golds at Rio 2016, where Laura triumphed in the team pursuit and the omnium, taking her tally to four.

But Laura, who is pregnant with the couple's first child, says Jason may be set to call time on his glittering career.

Working as a pundit for BBC Sport at the UCI Track Cycling World Championships, she said: "He's having six months to decide what he wants to do, whether to carry on or whether to retire.

"I'm not sure he even knows to be totally honest. As athletes, you always want to carry on, you always want to go to the next one.

"He's going to give himself a bit of time. As athletes you become this self-absorbed kind of person and everything's just about you but there's bigger things in life than that."
