Leicester number eight Jasper Wiese has been banned for two matches in the wake of his third yellow card of the season in the win over Bristol Bears on Boxing Day.
The imposing Springbok will miss Leicester’s home game with Newcastle Falcons on January 2 and the trip to midlands rivals Wasps a week later.
He appeared before an independent disciplinary panel on Wednesday, December 29 comprising of Charles Cuthbert(chair) with John Greenwood and Ollie Clark.
The ban is technical for accumulated offences rather than a specific breach of the laws and as such needed Wiese only to accept he had been recipient of the cards.
League leaders Leicester are eight points clear of Saracens after 10 games of the Premiership season.
