Mumbai Indians fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah says he is sticking to his processes despite the team struggling in the 2022 Indian Premier League campaign. On Monday evening, Mumbai Indians slumped to their ninth defeat in 11 IPL matches leaving them rooted to the bottom of the table. Bumrah said that while he is disappointed not to contribute to victories he is bowling quite well and won't be looking to change much going forward.

Jasprit Bumrah stars in losing effort

The fast bowler took 5 for 10 as Kolkata Knight Riders managed 165 but in response, Mumbai Indians were bowled out for just 113. "It's always a good feeling to contribute but the important thing is for the team to win. We had our chances but could not get it done. "My aim has always been to stick to my processes and I like to contribute in whatever way I can. "I always do my evaluation by myself, I look to follow my own processes and not pay attention to what the outside world is saying. "I have been in great rhythm in this tournament. You cannot control the end result, you can only follow your processes best and I accept whatever results come up after," he said. "You cannot judge anyone by stats or end results. There are a lot of factors involved - like the game state, onset of dew, the risks taken at different times - which come into play. "We got into a good position but midway through the innings the pressure creeped on and we lost the game. But it is the way it is. It's a good day. I got wickets and we were able to execute whatever we wanted to. I don't look at numbers or goals. My main aim is to follow the process and have a good mindset."

An investment season

Bumrah believes that while Mumbai are out of running for honours this season, the experienced gained by young players will prove valuable for the franchise.

The India quick added: "We have not been able to close out games despite having opportunities. "Ours is a young team, who are still getting better and trying to understand their game. "We have always been competitive and are just looking for some complete performances. "It will be our aim to get that ideal performance in the remaining games."
