Rangers are poised to announce the signing of Jefte after the Brazilian left-back passed a medical.

Gers have thrashed out a deal with Fluminense to take the 21-year-old to Glasgow after his loan deal with APOEL came to an end. Jefte was given permission to fly to the UK earlier this week and now The Rangers Review states that he's successfully undergone a medical examination.

Now, the defender looks set to become Philippe Clement's first summer signing as the Ibrox boss kickstarts his end of season rebuild. Jefte has been a long-term target for the Light Blues and the full-back almost joined in January, only for loan club APOEL to block the deal.

However, Clement has finally landed his man and the promising youngster will replace outgoing Borna Barisic, as the Croatian prepares to sign a pre-contract with Turkish side Trabzonspor.

Rangers also remain in discussions with Levski Sofia over the signing of centre-back Jose Cordoba. The 22-year-old defender has reportedly attracted interest from Norwich City but Gers remain confident they'll win the race for his signature.
