Jeremy Kyle has been given another shot at TV with a “straight-talking” live television show.

Jeremy Kyle Live, which premieres on October 10, “will be making sense of the stories that matter; speaking the language of the British people and providing practical help as we all try and navigate our way through current times,” according to the 57-year-old.

TalkTV has seen listener figures soar since Kyle started making appearances on their radio show during the summer.

The broadcaster spent 14 years fronting the Jeremy Kyle Show until 2019, when it was axed following the death of guest Steve Dymond.

Dymond took his own life days after failing a lie-detector test to prove he wasn’t cheating on his fiancée on the show.

Dymond’s final text before his death was revealed in a Channel 4 documentary in March, it read: “I hope the Jeremy Kyle show is so happy now. They are responsible for what happens now. I hope this makes good ratings for them. I bet they keep this quiet. Never never never did I cheat on you. Never never. My final words.”

The enquiry into his death is still ongoing.

The Jeremy Kyle Show was immediately suspended when Dymond’s death was first announced and Kyle has remained absent from TV ever since.

Speaking at the time, Kyle said: “I don’t want to sound ‘woe is me’, and as I’ve said the whole thing was a terrible tragedy — devastating for Steve Dymond’s friends and family, of course, and for the many people who worked on the show.

“But it did hit me hard. And it’s been awful to feel so scapegoated, and without being able to have my say about the accusations that often seemed to be levelled only at me. I’ve felt hunted and made out to be responsible for everything that ever took place around that show. But I was just the face of it.”
