Jermaine Jenas could be handed TV career lifeline as TNT face decision
Jermaine Jenas may continue his role with TNT Sports and return to television after being sacked by BBC's One Show for sending inappropriate messages to two female colleagues.
It's been suggested that he could return to television for the Manchester United game post-international break. The 41- year-old has apologised for his actions after being taken off air.
However, a new report suggests that TNT executives are set to hold further discussions about Jenas' future during the upcoming international break, seeking more information on his departure from the BBC. If they are satisfied with the outcome, there is a chance that Jenas could be back on commentary duty as early as next month, according to The Telegraph.
TNT's first live Premier League match after the break will see United travel to Southampton on September 14th, with a Saturday 12:30 kick-off. A more probable return for Jenas could be in the following midweek when the Champions League resumes.
TNT have greater control over these matches, providing more opportunities for Jenas to make a low-key return either on commentary duty or as a pundit. Following his dismissal from the BBC last week, Jenas issued a heartfelt apology. "I am ashamed, and I am deeply sorry," he told The Sun.
"I have let myself down, my family, friends and colleagues down, and I owe everyone an apology especially the women with whom I was messaging. I am so, so sorry.

"I am sorry for what I have put them through. I think it would be fair to say I have a problem. I know I self-sabotage and have a self-destructive streak when it comes to my relationship especially, and I know I need help. And I am getting help.
"I have made a lot of mistakes, and I am asking myself a lot of questions at the moment. I know there's a lot of work that needs to be done, and it will be hard."
Jenas, who took up presenting duties on the One Show in 2020, has been considered by many as the likely successor to Gary Lineker for the Match of The Day presenting role. He worked for the BBC as a pundit during Euro 2024 and was a regular on their programming.
