Jermaine Jenas reportedly boasts a net worth of £2million as the presenter comes to terms with his dismissal from the BBC.

The ex-Tottenham and Newcastle midfielder was dramatically axed by the broadcaster on Thursday following complaints made to the corporation. A BBC spokesperson said: "We can confirm that he is no longer part of our presenting line-up". It later revealed that Jenas, 41, was let go due to issues surrounding his "workplace conduct".

Jenas co-hosted The One Show with Alex Jones and used to lead MOTDx, a spin-off geared at the younger generation that was cancelled last season after four years.

His substantial income has allowed him to buy a £1m home in Hertfordshire, where he resides with his wife Ellie Penfold and their four kids.

Jenas and Ellie have been married since 2011 and share two daughters and a baby son. Additionally, Jenas has an older daughter from a previous relationship who lives with her mother in the US.

Jenas' profitable partnership with men's fashion brand Jacamo has seen the ex-footballer bank a six-figure sum. He has also pocketed a tidy sum as the face of a L'Oreal campaign aimed at fathers.

Jenas became a prominent figure at the BBC after his football career, providing commentary and analysis for Match of the Day. He also stepped in as host for The One Show and was personally selected by FIFA to anchor the 2022 World Cup draw.

The BBC's annual report revealed that Jenas was earning between £190,000 - £194,999 in 2023, but he has since lost this substantial income after nearly a decade with the broadcaster.

BBC News reported that Jenas' contract was terminated earlier this week due to allegations related to his workplace conduct, including issues surrounding digital communications such as text messages. These concerns were brought to the attention of the BBC, who took action.

It is alleged that the former England star has split from his long-term agent, MC Saatchi, following his dismissal. It is believed he has engaged lawyers to defend his reputation in light of the allegations.
