Jesper Lindstrom has admitted talk of Arsenal’s interest has given him a lift in recent weeks.

The 22-year-old, who plays as either an attacking midfield or winger for Eintracht Frankfurt, was named Bundesliga Rookie of the Season last campaign in what was his first year in Germany.

He scored the only goal in Frankfurt’s recent Champions League win over Marseille, and is likely to play a key role in the club’s upcoming back-to-back fixtures against Tottenham.

Reports in Germany earlier this month claimed that Arsenal have reached out to Lindstrom’s agent, with the Gunners interested in the versatility the Denmark international could offer in midfield and wide areas.

While Lindstrom played down talk of a move in the near future, he revealed he was aware of the rumours and that he was encouraged by suggestions there was Premier Leaguue interest in him.

“It’s a huge confidence boost, it’s one of the biggest things as a footballer so I’m obviously very happy,” Lindstrom told Tipsbladet.

“It is hard not to read along when articles appear on your Facebook, Instagram and other social media. So of course, I read it, but I don’t take it too seriously. The transfer window is not open at all right now, so I’m just giving it my all and waiting to see what happens.

“It’s always great to play in the biggest league in the world, but whether Arsenal is right for me is hard to say. Right now, I’m in a good place in Frankfurt, but it’s great that there are clubs like them that are watching me.

“Something may have to happen at some point, but right now I’m fine.”
