Jesus Navas is expected to re-join Sevilla when his contract with Manchester City expires at the end of the season.
The Spain winger, recently used as a makeshift right-back by Pep Guardiola, will be released this summer, with Sevilla in pole position to resign the player on a free transfer, four years after his departure for City in a £15.9 million deal.
Navas is likely to be one of around a dozen departures at the Etihad Stadium this summer. Roma are also interested in the player but he is understood to strongly favour a return to his home city.
Navas made 388 appearances over 10 seasons for Sevilla before leaving for Manchester in 2013.
“Jesus Navas may be one of the players our management works on,” Jose Castro, the Sevilla president, said. “His contract is ending and this is his home for life.”
