JHS Indian Golf team opens season by playing in Hudson Invitational

Feb. 8—NACOGDOCHES — Linksters from Jacksonville High School opened up the new season by taking part in the Hudson Hornet Invitational earlier this week.

The tournament was held at the Woodland Hills Golf Club in Nacogdoches.

Senior William Alexander led the Tribe trio by carding an 88, which placed him 21st in a field of 90.

This was a personal tournament best for Alexander, according to Jacksonville head golf coach, Jason Shuck.

Sophomores Mason Williams and Harrison Penn finished at 103 and 116, respectively, in what was their first varsity tournament.

The Indians' next tournament will take place on Feb. 19 and will be at Cherokee Ranch Golf Club in Jacksonville.

The Jacksonville girls will be in action Wednesday at Emerald Bay in Bullard.
