Joao Felix signs, Victor Osimhen deal edges closer - Chelsea's dream transfer week revealed
We are now into the penultimate week of the 2024 summer transfer window and it is set to be an extremely hectic period for Chelsea off the field.
The Premier League season got underway at the weekend, with the Blues being beaten 2-0 at home to Manchester City on Sunday afternoon. Chelsea were by no means terrible throughout the 90 minutes, but a lack of composure and cutting edge in the final third has got supporters desperately calling for a central striker to be signed.
The club know this as well, and they have been looking at striker options throughout the transfer window but they want to make sure the perfect option is brought in. And, with that being said, football.london takes a look at what would be considered the 'dream' penultimate week in the transfer window for Chelsea.
Osimhen breakthrough
It feels like we have been saying this for an eternity now but we need to see some progress and advancements in Chelsea's interest in Victor Osimhen. football.london understands the Blues want to sign the Napoli forward but any deal may well depend on Romelu Lukaku going to Naples.
Chelsea and Napoli have been in talks for a while now regarding the permanent transfer of Lukaku, who is currently one of the Blues' highest earners. If said deal can be agreed on, then things with Osimhen are likely to heat up.
Nicolas Jackson and Marc Guiu are Chelsea's natural striker options at the moment, while Christopher Nkunku can also be used as the No.9 in an Enzo Maresca system. Hopefully there is more to report on Osimhen in the next few days.

Felix signs
Chelsea have now reached an agreement with Atletico Madrid for the permanent transfer of Joao Felix, football.london understands. The 24-year-old spent the second half of the 2022/23 season on loan at Stamford Bridge and could be set for a permanent return to west London.
Felix is set to undergo a medical at Chelsea now ahead of a six-year move to west London. This will also trigger Conor Gallagher's move to Atletico Madrid. Gallagher spent five days in Madrid last week but returned to England after the deal stalled because of the collapse of Samu Omorodion's move the other way.
Several exits sorted
Chelsea still have a bloated squad and the next two weeks, or less than now, are going to be hugely significant in reducing the amount of players on the books at Cobham. Maresca, when speaking after the defeat to Man City, admitted there will have to be several departures in the final days of the transfer window.
Speaking to the press after the game, the Italian said: "I want Raheem Sterling but I want all the 30 players we have. But there is no space for all of them. So for some of them, they have to leave."
Maresca mentioned Sterling, who was left out of Chelsea's 20-man squad to face his former club Man City. The 29-year-old's representatives released a statement after Maresca's "technical decision" was confirmed to the public. It has now cast major doubt over Sterling's future at Stamford Bridge.
Also the likes of Gallagher (see above), Djordje Petrovic, Kepa Arrizabalaga, Trevoh Chalobah, Ben Chilwell, Carney Chukwuemeka, Cesare Casadei, Tino Anjorin, Armando Broja and David Datro Fofana have been linked with departures before the transfer deadline. Some of them are likely to move on loan while the others could leave for good.
