To Joe Thomas, there is one glaring reason why teams haven't jumped to sign 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick — he's a distraction..
The Browns offensive tackle went on a lengthy Twitter rant about Kaepernick's situation. According to Thomas, Kaepernick isn't the caliber of a starting quarterback, and teams don't want distractions from backups.
My thoughts re: @Kaepernick7? Teams don't currently view him as a starting QB, and NFL teams accept ZERO distractions from their backup QBs.— Joe Thomas (@joethomas73) March 25, 2017
When Twitter users began to jump down Thomas' throat, he decided to take a poll on the matter.
It's come to my attention that many ppl have different ideas of what a "distraction" is in regards to an NFL plyr. I need a poll for this https://t.co/MgfAEFtAGj— Joe Thomas (@joethomas73) March 26, 2017
What's your definition of a "distraction" as it relates to an NFL player?— Joe Thomas (@joethomas73) March 26, 2017
I think mine would be; anytime a player does something that forces his teammates to answer questions from media unrelated to football.— Joe Thomas (@joethomas73) March 26, 2017
Kaepernick made headlines last year when he kneeled during the national anthem before NFL games in protest of racial inequality. Many lauded his actions, while some found them to be disrespectful.
Looks like Thomas fits in the latter category and won't be rallying for Kaepernick to join the Browns anytime soon.
