Joe Warren Predicts Destructive Win Over LC Davis, Eyes a Revenge Bout with Marcos Galvao
At 38 years old, there’s no slowing down for Joe Warren. The former two-division Bellator MMA champion takes on L.C. Davis in the Bellator 143 main event and plans to recapture the bantamweight title in his next outing.
“I’d like to go out there and get this win and recapture the title. I’m healthy, I feel great, and still feel like I have a lot to offer,” Warren told MMAWeekly.com. “”I feel like I've got a few more good years in me and believe I can still compete at a high level.”
Warren lost the title to Marcos Galvao in March, falling victim to a knee bar. At the time of the stoppage, Warren complained that the fight shouldn’t have been stopped. After watching the footage, he changed his mind.
“I was caught up in the moment. (Referee) ‘Big' John McCarthy saved my knee. Instead of being in a cast, I’m fighting.”
Expecting a title shot if he defeats Davis, Warren sized up his Bellator 143 opponent.

He’s a veteran. He’s bigger than me, taller than me. He's a guy who's been around forever, a guy who's seen and done it all. He can wrestle, he comes from a wrestling background,” he said.
Davis wrestled in high school and college, but Warren’s wrestling resume includes winning the 2007 World Cup Senior Greco-Roman gold metal, the 2006 FILA Wrestling World Championships Senior Greco-Roman Gold, as well as the 2006 Pan American Championships Senior-Greco Roman gold medal. He won the USA Senior Greco-Roman National Championship in 2005, 2006, and 2007.
When asked how Davis’ wrestling stacked up against his, Warren replied, “There’s no comparison.”
Eyeing a revenge fight with Galvao if he gets past Davis, Warren predicted that his hand will be raised at the State Farm Arena in Hidalgo, Texas, on Friday.
“I’d like a revenge fight with Galvao, but I have to get past Davis first,” he said. “I’m going to go out there and be ‘The Baddest Man on the Panet.' I’m going to get my hand raised. I’m not sure how I’ll beat him, but hopefully they’ll be announcing my name and raising my hand while they’re helping him out of the cage.”
