Everything you need to know about John Lewis' new colour of the year
John Lewis has announced its first ever colour of year-meet Damson. The gorgeous new plum shade is set to become your latest homes obsession, and is the perfect hue to add into your home this autumn/winter.
After Dulux and Farrow and Ball owning 'the colour of the year' trend, John Lewis has created its own slant on the popular trend. Instead, the brand has created a new shade that is available exclusively in some of its fabulous homeware, home accessories and serveware this season.
The retailer has also collaborated with some of your favourite brands including Roberts, Le Creuset, Kartell and more to create the perfect Damson products.
To announce the exciting news, the brand took to Instagram to share a sneak peak of some of the new colour in action in one of its show rooms.
To caption the video, John Lewis wrote: "Introducing DAMSON, our first ever Colour of the Year 🍇♥️. A rich and cocooning plum shade, Damson is perfect for autumn/winter and can be found across new irresistible homeware pieces and unmissable brand exclusives."
Damson is a gorgeous luxurious hue and we think it's the ideal deep red/purple tone that is perfect for someone looking to add depth or richness to their home.
Once viewed as a bold choice for your home, John Lewis has explained in its caption how to make sure your the red hue doesn't dominate any space.
One of the colourways the brand suggests pairing with Damson is warm neutrals. They will immediately help to create more of a cosy vibe in any bedroom or living room. Or if you would prefer to give your living spaces more of an earthy, calming feel, John Lewis suggests pairing Damson with soft sage greens.
For more of a contemporary look, the brand differently suggests pairing Damson with a fresh sky blue as this will give a surprisingly fun, creative colour palette to your space. We think these hues would be a great choice for a home office, allowing your mind to the relax, and ideas to flow.
So, if you want to know how to incorporate this shade into your home, or maybe looking for the perfect Christmas gift for a homes lover, we've picked out our favourite pieces from the new colour range here.
We love the rich autumnal hue.
