Jon Toral has suggested his Arsenal future will depend on what role he is offered at the club next season.

Toral, along with fellow Spaniard Hector Bellerin, left Barcelona to join the Gunners as a teenager in 2011. But while Bellerin has gone onto become a first-team regular in Arsene Wenger's side, Toral is still waiting for his first-team debut at the age of 22 following a succession of loan moves.

The attacking midfielder started the 2016-17 season back in Spain with Granada but joined Rangers at the start of the year, where he linked up with his former Brentford boss Mark Warburton.

Since Pedro Caixinha took over at Ibrox in March, Toral feels his game has continued to improve, believing he has been able to take to the new manager's more intense approach to training.

Prior to making the move north of the border, Toral spoke enthusiastically of impressing Arsene Wenger and making the step up to the senior team upon his return to north London.

But with just over one year left on his deal, he admits he must first find out what the club have planned for him before deciding his next move.

"I have another season left at Arsenal so I will go back and it will depend on where they see me, in terms of whether they see me ready for the first team or if they see me doing better with another loan," Toral told Rangers' official website.

"I haven't seen if they want to give me another contract, so I will wait to talk to them and then will go from there."

Toral had spells on loan in the Championship with Brentford and Birmingham City between 2014 and 2016 before returning to Spain for a spell with Granada last summer.
