José Mourinho Will ‘Get The Best Out Of Paul Pogba’ at Manchester United

Former Arsenal winger Robert Pires believes Manchester United and José Mourinho are the perfect combination to get the best out of French midfielder Paul Pogba.

Pogba returned to Old Trafford from Juventus last summer for a world-record sum of £89 million (about $112 million), but has endured a turbulent first season back at Manchester United.

The 23-year-old has been criticized for not performing in crucial matches, but fellow Frenchman Pires believes he will fulfil his potential given time.

“He had a lot of pressure because some people were talking about his price tag, but you must not forget that Paul Pogba is a young player and in France we say he needs time to adapt,” Pires told Sky Sports.

“I think that is very important as the Premier League is very hard, difficult and tough, it is not only for the game, it is every morning in the training sessions.”

He added: "I know Paul, I am very confident for him, but I think Man United is a good choice for him and if you work with José Mourinho you can learn a lot."

Mourinho and United host West Bromwich Albion at Old Trafford on Saturday as the club looks to continue its challenge for a top-four finish in the Premier League.

With two games in hand on Liverpool and four points separating the teams, United is capable of leapfrogging its rivals for a Champions League position.
