Jose Aldo Wants Title Shot or Conor McGregor… Nothing Else!
Just in case he hasn't been clear enough, former UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo on Wednesday left no wiggle room in his intentions. With one exception, he is not going to fight again until he gets a title shot.
“Hi everyone, i was quiet for a while because i was waiting for my rematch based on how the fight Went down, in fact I was already training for it, but apparently I was wrong,” Aldo said on Instagram.

“So I wanted to make something clear to UFC: for everything I have done, everything I have accepted and mostly how the fight ended, I will not accept any other fight other than a title shot . My only exception would be fighting the notorious , at any time, anywhere , and once that he is afraid and knows that I'm gonna win …. Doesn't have to be title fight against him. Keep my belt, but I wanna whoop ur ass anywhere.”
In a media scrum in Brazil, Aldo already said that he was told after a 13-second knockout loss to Conor McGregor at UFC 194 in December that he would be fighting Frankie Edgar for the 145-pound strap he just lost because McGregor wasn't likely to make the weight again in the future.
Apparently, he intends to hold UFC brass to those words, as he finished his Instagram post by tagging UFC president Dana White and company CEO Lorenzo Fertitta before adding, “@ufc keep ur word. I still believe in the company that I work for. #rematch”
