Jose Mourinho pig sick with Tottenham party trio after Sergio Reguilon Christmas gift

Jose Mourinho says he is disappointed with Tottenham trio Sergio Reguilon, Erik Lamela and Giovani Lo Celso for breaking Covid-19 regulations to attend a Christmas party.

The club has “strongly condemned” the breach of Government guidelines and Reguilon was an unused substitute in the 3-0 win over Leeds on Saturday, while Lo Celso and Lamela were absent from the squad altogether, with the former still injured.

Mourinho revealed he had gifted Reguilon a suckling pig for Christmas, believing the Spaniard was spending the day alone, and said learning of the party was a nasty surprise.

"An amazing gift – a Portuguese piglet which is amazing for Portuguese and Spanish [people]," Mourinho said.

"I gave him [it] because I was told he was going to spend Christmas on his own. I had this thought about him. He was not alone as you could see and we the club of course feel disappointed because we give the players all the education, all the conditions. Of course we're not happy. It was a negative surprise for us.

"I prefer to say disappointed [than angry]. We know what we are internally. We don't need to open the door to you and let you [the media] know what is going on internally, what are going to be the consequences, how did we approach that negative surprise. I feel disappointed, just disappointed."
