Jose Mourinho is reportedly eyeing a move for Son Heung-min as one of his first moves as Fenerbahce boss.

Son currently has one year remaining on his Tottenham Hotspur contract and remains an invaluable member of Ange Postecoglou's squad, having been made club captain only last year.

But Mourinho is keen to bring the South Korean to Turkey and wants to make the 31-year-old one of his first signings in his new role, according to a latest report by TEAMtalk.

The article states the former Spurs coach has "included the forward on his shortlist for the summer", though no contact is understood to have been made at this stage.

Son is also claimed to be a target for Saudi Arabian side Al-Ittihad, who are expected to move for the Spurs talisman if they fail in their second attempt to lure Liverpool's Mohamed Salah to the Middle East.

Another player Mourinho has previously worked with and may look to target is Chelsea striker, Romelu Lukaku. The Belgian is likely to be moved on by the Blues this summer, only three years on from his £97.5million return to Stamford Bridge, and could be available for a figure in the region of £38m.

Towards the end of the 2023/24 season, it was put to Postecoglou that the Son might be one player he builds his team around next season rather than one of the 'good players' who could be sacrificed.

Responding to this suggestion, the Australian remarked: "Jeez, that’s a huge leap for you, mate. What a bold prediction to make that Sonny is going to be part of our future! Yeah he’s going to be part of our future."
