Former Chelsea and Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho has landed in Turkey after becoming Fenerbahce's new manager.

The Portuguese has been out of work since leaving Roma in January following a poor run of results. The Italian club won the Europa Conference League in 2022 under Mourinho before losing the following season's Europa League final.

Roma were ninth in Serie A when Mourinho was sacked but have been revived under former player Daniele de Rossi who has guided the Giallorossi to sixth and a return to European football. The club also narrowly lost to Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League semi-finals.

And after working as a pundit for TNT Sport at Saturday's Champions League final, Mourinho has landed in Turkey where he has been confirmed as the new Fenerbache manager.

"NEW HOME," he wrote on Instagram alongside a video of him coming into land. Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand commented on the post: "See you soon & good luck Mr."

Discussing Mourinho's appointment, Fenerbahce President Ali Koc said via Fanatik: "I asked Mourinho 'why us?' He said, 'My only goal is not to be a champion in Turkey, I am coming to be successful in Europe and to be successful there too."

Mourinho's most recent job in the Premier League was at Spurs before being sacked in 2021 just days before the League Cup final against Manchester City.

When asked on Saturday about the north London club, he said: "Tottenham I have an idea, this is Tottenham, always fighting to be fourth, which would be amazing between fourth, fifth, sixth, next season the Europa League, of course, they can win it.

"They look [to have] stability, they are investing more, amazing club, amazing facilities, such a beautiful stadium, you can feel it."

When asked about Chelsea, he replied: "I have no idea," before adding: "Chelsea, I really don’t know."

The 61-year-old has won a huge number of trophies across a 20-year career in football management. Mourinho has won two Champions Leagues as well as league titles and domestic cups in England, Italy, Spain and Portugal.
