Dan Gosling has hailed Watford for winning the race to sign Josh King and believes the striker can rediscover his best form at Vicarage Road.

Watford brought in King earlier this month on a free transfer after his contract with Everton expired.

The striker is expected to lead the line for the Hornets now they’re back in the top-flight and Gosling, who played with King at Bournemouth, thinks he could be a hit.

“We had a lot of good matches together, a lot of great wins and we had a successful time there,” he told Watford’s website.

“Five years in the Premier League is good going and hopefully we get Josh back scoring. He got sixteen goals one season, so if he can replicate that sort of form again we’ve got a fantastic player on our hands.

“He’s strong, a powerful player with good hold-up play, and he likes running in behind. He’s quite direct and he’ll be a good focal point.”
