Huddersfield Town forward Josh Koroma hopes his side’s “form can continue” as the Terriers look to build on their upturn in results in League One.

Town extended their unbeaten run to seven matches in the division with a 2-0 victory at Leyton Orient on Tuesday. Michael Duff’s side won four of their first five League One matches of the campaign, but then suffered four straight defeats to fall away from the promotion places.

The Terriers have since registered 17 points from their last seven games, including five wins and two draws, to move back up to fifth ahead of Tuesday's clash at home to Wigan Athletic.

The encounter is the first of seven matches that Town will play before the end of the year, and Koroma is eager for his side to keep their momentum going as they head into a busy time of the campaign.

Reflecting on his side’s form this term, Koroma said at a recent press conference: “Obviously we started the season amazingly well, and then we had a little dip of form, which isn’t ideal.

“We’d rather the dip in form come then than in January or December when we’ve got loads of games coming thick and fast. Now we’ve picked up form, hopefully the form can continue, and we can continue to get wins.”

Koroma has recently made his return from injury, with the forward sidelined for just over a month of the campaign with a back issue. The 26-year-old netted five goals in his first 11 appearances of the season prior to his injury, but Koroma has yet to find the back of the net in the three games since his return, with the forward having a penalty saved in the victory at Brisbane Road.

Koroma believes he can get back to his goalscoring form at the beginning of the campaign, but the forward insists that the team’s results are his main priority.

“It’s never nice to obviously be injured. I was in a good run of form, but when I was out of the team, we picked up some good results I feel like, and now I’m back I just hope I can help them, and we can win more games,” the attacker said.

“Coming back in, I just want to help the team any way I can, whether that’s coming off the bench or starting, I’ll just do whatever I can to support the team.

“I definitely think it will come (returning to his form at the start of the season). Obviously on Saturday (against Charlton Athletic), it was my first start in over a month, so it’s just getting back into the swing of things.

“We have a good team, I know I’m going to get chances. I didn’t get many on Saturday, but if we win every game and it means that I’m not scoring, as long as we win, that’s all I really care about.”

Koroma is one of a number of forward options that Town have at their disposal, with Callum Marshall, Bojan Radulovic, Danny Ward, Freddie Ladapo and Rhys Healey having all also been vying for a place up front this season.

Discussing playing alongside his fellow attackers, he added: “I feel like any of the frontmen I play with all do different things well, and I think all of us work well together.

“We have a good striking group here, so I don’t think we read into who’s playing with who. I think whoever’s playing enjoy playing with each other, and we just work together.

“Cal does things different to Wardy, Bojan does different things to both of them, Rhys does different things to me, so it’s just about whoever’s out there, you know what their strengths and weaknesses are, and it’s just about working together.”
