Josh Rosen acknowledges his uncertain offseason: 'It's annoying'
Josh Rosen admitted that the uncertainty surrounding his status with the Arizona Cardinals this offseason has been “annoying,” but whatever happens, he’ll be ready to prove his doubters wrong.
The Cardinals, with new head coach Kliff Kingsbury in tow, are rumored to favor Oklahoma quarterback Kyler Murray with the No. 1 pick in the upcoming NFL draft. Rosen, the team’s first-round pick last year, would obviously be pushed out if the team were to select Murray.
In an interview with SI TV, Rosen said he is prepared for either outcome.
"It's annoying, but it is what it is. Football's a business, and I definitely respect the higher-ups and their decisions,” Rosen said. “We won three games, and each one of those wins — to me, it felt like we won the Super Bowl. And that feeling is so intoxicating, and that's why I just want nothing more than to be part of a team next year and have the same opportunities to go out and compete."

Rosen showed flashes throughout his rookie season but also had plenty of struggles, as the team’s position at No. 1 in the draft indicates. But Rosen didn’t have much help as the team limped to a 3-13 record and ended up firing head coach Steve Wilks after just one season.
With the arrival of Kingsbury comes a different offensive system — one that many see Murray as a perfect fit. Rosen understands what may be on the horizon, but isn’t going to spend time worrying about it.
"I think the best advice I've ever gotten in life, from so many different people, is control what you can control," Rosen said. "And whatever decisions are made, it's my duty to prove them right if they keep me and prove them wrong if they ship me off."
Rosen has been present this week for offseason workouts, drawing praise from Kingsbury. Whether Kingsbury will be praising Rosen after next week’s draft remains to be seen.
