Jota set for post Celtic transfer within days as Al-Ittihad hell comes to close
Jota is poised to FINALLY end his Al-Ittihad hell by signing for another club in Saudi Arabia.
It has been a year since the Portuguese winger sealed his Celtic exit with a £25million switch to the Pro League side, a move which was money-spinning for himself also in terms of the wages on offer. But it quickly turned sour when it transpired Ittihad had overshot on the amount of foreign players signed given they have a limit on how many can be registered and Jota was the one to be sacrificed.
He ended up being registered for the second period of the season and made 16 league appearances in total, scoring four goals. But he is set to move on this summer with new manager Laurent Blanc sanctioning the Hoops hero's exit.
And despite regularly being linked with clubs in the Premier League and also a return to the Scottish champions, it will be a cross-division move.
The 25-year-old is set to team up with Slaven Bilic at Al-Fateh who are ready to match his wages. The transfer is expected to be completed this week.
Al-Ittihad are trying to reduce the number of foreigners they have on their books and therofore Jota will be allowed to leave.
