Jude Bellingham has congratulated Morgan Rogers for making his England debut. The 22-year-old midfielder replaced Anthony Gordon during the second half of the Three Lions's 3-0 win over Greece in the Nations League.

Shortly after coming on at the Athens Olympic Stadium on Thursday night, Lee Carsley's side shifted into fifth gear, netting a second and a third in quick succession. After the game, Rogers marked the victory with a celebratory post on Instagram, which chalked up nearly 50,000 likes.

"When a dream becomes reality. A proud moment for me and my family!!!" wrote the Aston Villa ace. Bellingham, Cole Palmer and Ollie Watkins, among others too, flooded the comment section, to congratulate Rogers on his senior international debut.

"Deserved my brother [three white heart emojis]," wrote the Real Madrid star, who inspired England to victory. Meanwhile, the Chelsea talisman said: "Congrats my boy [black heart emoji."

Bellingham sent Rogers a classy message on his Instagram story, uploading two pictures; one from their youth days for England and the other after the Three Lions' clash against Greece. The former Birmingham City midfielder captioned his post: "Congrats brother [white heart emoji]. Come a long way [crying with laughter emoji]."

The Aston Villa midfielder responded to the before-and-after post, writing: "From the start [two red heart emojis]." Speaking to reporters after the game, Carsley was pleased to give Rogers, Curtis Jones and Lewis Hall an opportunity on the international stage.

"It's just important that the players play to their strengths," said the interim England boss, who'll be replaced by Thomas Tuchel on a permanent basis in the new year. "We've got a lot of outstanding talent, the players that weren't here, we concentrated on the ones that were.

"We spoke about it yesterday, about players getting opportunities and we've seen that tonight. Curtis is an outstanding player, I thought he played really well today and even without his goal, it was an excellent performance and I'm really delighted for him.

"People were speaking about it last night, the inexperience in the squad, but these players play week-in and week-out in the Premier League at a really high level. Lewis is a testament to Newcastle and to himself that he was able to come on in an atmosphere like that and perform the way he did."

Conceding that Rogers should've made his senior debut earlier, Carsley added: "Same with Morgan Rogers, he’s been really good at Villa. He probably could've been in the senior squad a little bit earlier but it was important that we took our time with him because hopefully he'll be here for a while."
