Prime Video have confirmed Julia Louis-Dreyfus' new movie You Hurt My Feelings will be released in the UK on July 25.

The Veep actress stars in the new comedy film written and directed by The Last Duel's Nicole Holofcener. Louis-Dreyfus stars alongside The Crown actor Tobias Menzies, Michaela Watkins, Succession's Arian Moayed and Arrested Development's David Cross.

The film centres on Louis-Dreyfus as Beth, a novelist whose longstanding marriage gets "suddenly upended" while overhearing her husband Don (Menzies) sharing his honest reaction to her new book.

The first trailer for You Hurt My Feelings dropped in March, two months after the film's premiere at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival. The movie has already earned rave reviews from critics and currently holds a 96% 'Fresh' rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Louis-Dreyfus admitted that it was the filmmaker's writing that drew her to the script originally. "Nobody writes female characters like Nicole Holofcener," she told People magazine.

The film's plot and the "rupture in their relationship" that occurs as a result of her husband's feedback was another factor that appealed to the Seinfield star.

"I immediately related to that as a creative person – it feels like a betrayal, almost worse than infidelity," she said. "I would be utterly devastated if I found out [her husband Brad Hall] hadn't been telling me the truth. And I think he would feel the same."

British fans that can't wait for the film to be released on Prime Video can get tickets to the UK premiere during Sundance Film Festival: London, taking place at Picturehouse Central on July 9.

You Hurt My Feelings is available to stream on Prime Video from July 9.
