Julia Roberts and George Clooney are reuniting for a brand new movie in which the Hollywood A-listers play warring exes – and now we have our first look at the trailer.
Ticket to Paradise features Roberts and Clooney as divorcees who bump into one another on the plane to Bali, where they both plan to stop their daughter from marrying someone she just met on the paradisiacal Indonesian island.
The two ex-partners agree to put aside their differences and team up to stop the wedding from happening as they don't want their daughter to make the same mistake they did 25 years ago.
"I won't let her throw her life away," Roberts' character says in the trailer, which you can watch above. "We need to trick her into dumping him. As much as this will pain us both, we have to call a truce to make this work."
The trailer features lush shots of Bali as Clooney and Roberts show off their expert comic chops in the film that also features Kaitlyn Dever and Billie Lourd. Dever plays Clooney and Roberts' onscreen daughter Lily, who falls in love with a Bali local, while Lourd plays her best friend and fellow University of Chicago graduate Wren.
This will be the fourth collaboration between Clooney and Roberts, following 2001's Ocean's Eleven, 2004's Ocean's Twelve, and 2016's Money Monster.
Clooney most recently starred in the 2020 Netflix movie The Midnight Sky, which he also starred in, while he directed Ben Affleck in the 2021 film The Tender Bar. As for Roberts, she starred in the TV series Gaslit, which depicted the untold stories of the Watergate scandal, while her last movie was 2018's Ben is Back.
Ticket to Paradise will be released theatrically by Universal and currently has a planned release date of October 21.
The movie is co-written (along with Daniel Pipski) and directed by Ol Parker, who helmed the similarly lush-looking flick Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again.
Ticket to Paradise will be released on October 21.
