Jurgen Klopp kept things simple as he made a special return to the dugout for Borussia Dortmund.

Having waved farewell to Liverpool just four months ago, the German took a day out of his year-long sabbatical to return to Signal Iduna Park for a special legends game in honor of two of his former stars - Lukasz Piszczek and Jakub Blaszczykowski.

Klopp brought a temporary halt to his break from management as he took charge of the side led by Blaszcykowski. He was seen back in a Borussia Dortmund training kit for the first time since leaving the Bundesliga giant back in 2015 on Friday as he took part in a training session back at his old club.

The former Liverpool boss was greeted with a rapturous reception as he made his return to his old stomping ground on Saturday, and he got the better of his former charge Nuri Sahin as his side won the game 5-4.

It seems then that Klopp certainly hasn’t lost his magic touch since embarking on his break from management, and a picture from inside the changing room has shown the simple – but effective – message he gave to his players before the game.

Dortmund shared an image of Klopp stood next to a board on which he had written his tactics down for his star-studded team. At the top of the board was the message ‘score’, circled and surrounded in stars.

That wasn’t the only message Klopp passed on though. In the top right corner, he also wrote ‘vibes’ next to an arrow pointing up, while the bottom of the board revealed his cunning strategy as he wrote ‘plan = win’.

The picture was posted with the caption: ‘This is why he is in charge’. His Dortmund side certainly seemed to take his message on board, with the game having all the hallmarks of some of his most memorable matches in charge of Liverpool.

Liverpool.com says: You’ve got to love Jurgen. He clearly had a lot of fun making a short return to the dugout, and it must have been a real thrill for his former players to have him back in charge.

He will of course go back to his break now, but hopefully it won’t be too long before we see him back in management. Who knows, we may even get to see him back at Anfield for a legends game at some point.
