Jurrien Timber makes Chelsea promise as Arsenal star explains what went wrong vs Inter Milan
Arsenal defender Jurrien Timber has admitted "small moments can decide a game" after revealing his frustration at his side's Champions League loss to Inter Milan.
The Gunners dominated large parts of the game at the San Siro on Wednesday night but ultimately lost 1-0 following a controversial Hakan Çalhanoglu penalty on the stroke of half-time. Mikel Arteta's side dominated possession against the Serie A side and had the most shots but could not find a way past a stubborn Inter defence.
The defeat is Arsenal's first of the season in the Champions League, with the Gunners sitting 12th in the league having won two, drawn one and lost one of their four games played.
“It’s very tough,” Timber told the official Arsenal website after the match. “Very frustrating for us. I think we played a good game, we dominated a lot but we didn’t score. In the Champions League, you have to score if you want to win. It’s a tough away game and small moments can decide a game.”
For Mikel Arteta and the rest of the squad, attention now turns to Chelsea. Arsenal make the trip across London knowing three points is vital for their Premier League title aspirations.

“At the end, we felt confident, we had a couple of tough matches," Timber said. "On Sunday will be tough again but I believe in our squad, we have a lot of quality, just need a little bit of luck in scoring more goals. Like I said, I have a lot of trust in our team and we’ll be fine for sure.”
Arteta believes his side have a good chance of beating Enzo Maresca's side on Sunday should they play the way they did in Italy. The Spaniard told reporters during his post-match press conference: "If we play the way we played we have a good chance to win against Chelsea.
"I told them [the players] I’m proud of them. I haven’t seen them play in Europe in the manner they have today. And we are very disappointed because we didn’t get what we wanted out of the game that’s for sure."
