Jurrien Timber posts 15-word Arsenal message after injury scare vs Liverpool
Jurrien Timber has broken his silence after being forced off during Arsenal's Premier League clash with Liverpool on Sunday.
The Dutchman was handed his first start in more than a month against the Reds and performed well at left-back. The 23-year-old dealt with the threat of Mohamed Salah incredibly well and worked so hard that he appeared to suffer with cramp in the second half.
The defender was forced off after going to ground with 15 minutes to go, with youngster Miles Lewis-Skelly brought on in his place. Gabriel had earlier been taken off due to injury so all associated with Arsenal will be hoping Timber did not pick up a fresh knock against Liverpool.
After the match, the former Ajax man took to social media to post a 15-word message to the Gunners fans. On Instagram Timber wrote: "Good to be back, we fought hard. A bit disappointed but we take the point."
Arteta was asked about both Timber and Gabriel in his post match press conference and the Spaniard admitted he did not know the extent of their injuries. "I think we’ve done everything we could to accelerate that process," Arteta said.
"He [Timber] was so willing. The team and the medical staff have done a great job. We gave ourselves the chance to compete. I don’t know the extent of the injury if there is one. The same with big Gabi. Continue to go."

On Gabriel, Arteta added: "I don’t know but he could not run. I don’t know what happened. I don’t know if it’s the knee joint or the ankle. They’re assessing him now so *touches wood*."
Next up for Arsenal is Preston North End in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday and Arteta will likely provide the latest Arsenal injury news ahead of the clash on Tuesday.
