Juventus are hoping that Manchester United make an offer for midfielder Adrien Rabiot as they look to create space in their squad for Paul Pogba.

Pogba’s United departure was confirmed earlier this week, six years on from his then club record move for Juve to Old Trafford.

Man United have longest-standing transfer record as Liverpool and Man City dominance laid bare

He is widely expected to return to Juventus this summer, although there is interest from Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid.

If the French midfielder does return to Serie A, outgoings are likely and Pogba’s fellow countryman Rabiot could be set to a move to England.

Rabiot isn’t a guaranteed starter in Turin and with more potential competition coming in, the 27-year-old could be available this summer.

Tuttomercatoweb (via Football Italia) are reporting that Juventus are hoping that Man Utd make an offer for him this summer to take him off thier hands following an unimpressive season.

Juventus believes they can get around £15m-£20m for the French midfielder this summer and with United in need of midfield reinforcements, they could make a move.

United will lose four midfield options this summer with Pogba joined by Nemanja Matic, Jesse Lingard and Juan Mata as players who will leave as free agents at the end of the month.

Meanwhile, Juventus goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny has admitted he would love to see Pogba join the club this summer.

Szczesny told The Sun: “I’d be delighted to see that happen. He did brilliantly in his previous time at Juventus so he would be a great addition to the squad.

“He is a player with good calibre and experience and he has good memories from Turin.”

When asked whether Pogba is still a top player, Szczesny replied: “Oh yeah. Absolutely.

“Maybe over the last couple of years the consistency of his game and the injuries didn’t help at United. But when he is fit, he is still one of the best in the world.”
