Kamaru Usman sends warning shot at Conor McGregor: 'He must want to die'
The video is choppy at times, the quality fuzzy. But the words from Kamaru Usman to Conor McGregor are clear: You don’t want this smoke.
Usman, coming off a welterweight title win over Colby Covington at UFC 245 on Saturday, responded to a tweet that McGregor sent the next morning that read “145, 155, 170.” McGregor has already won titles at the 145 and 155-weight limit (featherweight and lightweight), and the tweet insinuated a desire to challenge Usman for his belt.

In an interview with TMZ, Usman strongly warned McGregor to back off.
“He must want to die,” Usman said. “This is not ‘45, ‘55.”
Usman then referenced how Khabib Nurmagomedov defeated McGregor last year at the lightweight level.
“It wouldn't be fair if I fought Conor,” Usman said. “Much respect to Conor for what he's done for the sport and transcended it. But nah. This ain't what you want. Just sit down, little man. Sit down. Learn to walk before you can run. Because I would hurt that guy."
McGregor’s next fight will be at welterweight, as he will take on Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone at UFC 246 on Jan. 18.
Usman wants GSP
The fighter who Usman wants to face next is not McGregor, but Georges St-Pierre, who retired earlier this year. St-Pierre is considered the best welterweight of all-time, and Usman wants to beat the best on the road to most consecutive welterweight wins. He has currently won 11 straight; one shy of St-Pierre.
"If I had to choose, of course I want Georges," Usman said. "I want GSP. One more win and I tie him for the most consecutive wins. How sweet would that be to actually get that win off of him?"
Usman is riding high
Usman is riding high after a huge win over Covington, who ramped up the trash talk against the Nigerian. But Usman shut him up, breaking his jaw en route to the win.
He directed further comments to TMZ at Covington, who has made clear his support of President Donald Trump. And Usman is down to visit the president with his title belt.
“I showed and exemplified what it means to be an American,” Usman said. “This fight was racially-motivated on his behalf, but I think I won in there and I showed what a true American is all about. Why not take the belt to the White House?”
